• Production Support (60 direct and indirect reports): Assist in managing process reliability, including downtime tracking and reduction. Collaborate with teams to address processing and quality issues, develop corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of action items. Support inventory accuracy, SAP transactions, and recycling stream management.  

• Training & Development: Help develop and implement new associate training programs. Support new hires with process training, communication, and cultural integration. Identify morale issues and enforce consistent HR policies. 

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety policies, conduct safety audits, promote safe practices, and lead safety training initiatives. Actively participates in and manages staffing for the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and ensures associates have the training needed for safe operations.

• Responsible Care: Ensure compliance with RC-14001 standards, minimize waste, prevent pollution, and contribute to continuous environmental, health, safety, and security improvements. 

• Project & Process Improvement: Investigate incidents and conduct RCAs, manage plant projects, schedule and staff effectively to meet production goals, and assist in the development and review of production procedures. 

• Assist with all biomanufacturing-related activities which may include bioreactor management and setup, cell line passages, bioreactor viral infections, production harvest operations, chromatography purification, centrifugation, ultrafiltration/ diafiltration, and viral clearance.

• Properly disinfect and stage materials into production rooms before the production campaigns.

• Assist with change-over cleaning in the manufacturing core and other production areas.

• Assist activities to support production campaigns such as preparation of tubing assemblies, autoclaving, material request, and material transfer into production rooms.
